A Part of the Kalash of Kedarnath Temple is Missing

It is not sure whether it is a theft or gone missing due to heavy windy conditions.

Times of India reports:

The 'kalash' was found on the ground in the temple premises on October 29. But one of its five parts was missing. Temple authorities said strong winds during snowfall blew off the 'kalash' and it fell on the ground. An FIR was lodged by J P Namboori, deputy chief executive officer of the temple committee, at the Gaurikund police post on Monday in this connection.

The 'kalash' comprises five parts and is topped with a bulb-shaped piece made of brass and polished with gold. DIG Ram Singh Meena said the second part of the 'kalash' may be missing. A police team has been sent to the shrine to investigate the matter. But it is facing difficulties reaching the shrine due to heavy snow on route to the temple that is approximately 10 meters high.
